Melissa requested this cake for her sister’s bridal shower. The color and flower inspiration came from the shower invites and an inspiration photo for the bridal bouquet.

The flowers are fondant calla lilies and roses. The cake has a Swiss dot pattern that matched the party decorations.  The monogram topper matches the couple’s joined monogram. The filling is the ever-popular key lime cake with key lime buttercream.

Last year, I got to make a Minnie Mouse cake for little Reese. This year she’s getting a Candyland-themed cake for her third birthday. I pulled the colors from the provided lollipop, which is from Dylan’s Candy Bar. I can’t wait to visit the original store in an upcoming trip to New York. The cake itself is classic chocolate with chocolate buttercream.

In addition to the old-school library-card inspired invite and book plate, I had fun designing a cake and thank you cookie bags around one of my favorite books, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

One of my best customers requested this cake as a birthday surprise for a friend. The “R” monogram and modern design would be great for nearly any event–birthday, anniversary, modern baby shower and even scaled up for a wedding.

The red flowers on top are an abstract version of a anemone. Both the initial topper and flowers are made of fondant. The cake itself is my classic white with vanilla buttercream.

My newest customer requested an “exquisitely beautiful” cake for her mother’s 83rd birthday. I couldn’t help but oblige her! This is a 6-inch lemon cake with raspberry buttercream under the quilted fondant. The top is adorned with a gumpaste peony, rose, daisies and some butterflies. She’s also getting a dozen cupcakes that match the cake’s design. I hope both Margaret and her mother approve!
