Chocolate for my Love

For my husband’s birthday I made a chocolate Guinness cake. The cream cheese frosting ends up looking like the froth on top of a cold one. Happy Birthday love!

Charlie is 2!

My coworker Zoe’s son Charlie is turning 2 today! He is a true boy and loves anything with wheels. For his cupcakes, we decided on “dirt” covered cupcakes with wheels and a few with the number 2. (Don’t worry, the dirt is actually graham crackers and Oreo crumbs.

Chocolate Cherry Chip Transformer Cake

My friend Cavan planned a surprise birthday party for his husband Scott’s 30th birthday. He said Scott liked these things in relation to cake: chocolate, cherry and transformers. So, we made it work with chocolate cherry-chip cake and chocolate buttercream! The party included a rolling surprise of friends and family throughout the evening and a ride on a old-time fire truck throughout St. Paul with the Vulkans. What a great birthday surprise.

Lindsey’s Triple Chocolate Cake

Lindsey “likes” to check out all of the treats I make via my facebook page and insisted on a custom cake for her 8th birthday party. She was pretty hands-on when it came to designing her cake, and it was fun to have such creative input! This is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, with a layer of milk chocolate chips in the middle. Happy Birthday Lindsey!

Celebrating a Handy Man

This cake is for John’s 90th Birthday. John started an Our Own hardware store and still works for the local hardware shop. One of his specialties is making keys. This is an 8-inch chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream.
